Just bought naked Freelander

I have on impulse bought a 2008 Freelander in tangerine orange BK08WFU

The dealer at Bury was at pains to point out that it was not used as a G4 vehicle - so has been unable to supply any of the original kit, according to his source at Land Rover none was ever fitted!

Shame really as there are 4 bolt holes in the rear door that look perfect for a ladder.

The dog guard, extinguisher, tow bar, lightguards, black front guard are all fitted, and there were no locking wheel nuts - apparently no one nicks wheels in Mongolia, trust me they do in Manchester.

First question is obviously is she genuine, can any one help with the name/part numbers on various bits - sump guard - important, roof rack, ladder.

Hi Andy

Congrats on your purchase and glad that you managed to get the access sorted .

You car was indeed part of the event fleet as per the records.:D:D and the Freelander fleet on the club is increasing on a daily basis :w00t:

I'm also glad that you joined the club as a paid member, so we will try to help with the items to bring your car back to original spec.

We are in the process of sorting out stickers for the 09 event (we have 2003 and 2006), so bear with us on that.

The lights are Hellas and if I'm not wrong the Freelander carry just a pair on the roof (not two), so a bit cheaper on that:w00t:

The ladder is Mantec I believe and I will put a post on Mantec items later today:P

Anyway, welcome to the club:w00t:

Hope to be at Billing on the 19th - the day after a wedding so I might be a little fragile.

See what I mean - a good looker if a little bare on top.

A little biased it's our third Freelander, all used hard off road.

Nice motor, and welcome to the club. I saw a naked Freelander for sale a couple of months ago in Newport BG08 EJL. I was tempted. Hope to see you at Billing.

Sad bit is I drove a new Disco on the Land Rover experience day this weekend, organised months before my recent impulse buy, would I still buy the Freelander - mmmmm - yes.

Heather who took us out, kept telling me to go down the holes rather than picking a way around them, now where's the fun in that:D.  Disco's amazing off the black stuff, just prefer Clementine for the A-roads.

I have enough fun with a 1100kg caravan thanks.
