How about a trip in August 2010 to the Straubing beer festival?  There is also pleanty of entertainment for the wife and kids, as there is a country type show and a fair ground as part of the festival weekend. The location is not far from Austria or Czech Rep.

If there is sufficent interest, the plan would be to get together at Dover midday, drive to Belguim, camp and then progress to Straubing the following day.  A day trip to Austria and another to Czech Rep.

Dates:

Depart Dover 6th August

Arrive Straubing 7th August

then just make it up as we go along ........

I am definitely going to be somewhere hot and dusty, in a 'work related' overseas location.  Hopefully, the election re-run will have been completed by then.......
