Has anybody experienced problems with wheel sensors on their G4 Discos., mine lowered and would not come back up, also had four lights come on. IT is still with a Landrover Dealer who is trying to fix the problem. This happened in the central Kalahari in thick sand and about seven hours from the nearest town!!

Bu@@er!

TBH - If you need an answer, you might be better off popping a note onto somewhere like Australian Land Rover Owners or Disco3.

It could be this?

Sensor Recall

By aedwar57 - 19 Jan 2010

I had this on my D3 - it turned out in deep mud, that the air pipe to front suspention got pushed towards the exhaust, which melted a small section of pipe - this caused suspention to drop and wouldn't come back up.

Check pipe from compressor to the front - along top of LH chassis rail

If this is the cause - its a cheap fix....

thanks very much for this info. I sent it to the dealership. They replaced the front wheel sensor a it rectified the problem.

Thanks, they found the problem and it has been sorted out. A worn front wheel sensor.

Hi Stoffel

where abouts in the Kalahari where you? I used to live in Botswana, and loved the remoteness and amazing bush driving. We drove 130 defenders mostly, but dare I say it I had an old toyota hilux and an old SWB Samal that kicked ***.

Hi,

We were in Deception Valley, Sunday pan, and Passage valley. It is really a special place and we will certainly be going back there soon. Will send you a picture of the vehicle before it broke.

Regards

Stoffel.

Fantastic area, we had friends who ran/managed Deception Valley Lodge for a while, this is around 2002/3, we drove out there one rainy season from the Rakops direction, now that was a fun drive. Amazing how what is normally sand, sand, sand turns to mud, mud, mud with a bit of rain!! It took us ages to get there, but the thought of a few cold Windhoeks spurred us on.

Look forward to seeing some pics.

Cheers

Rich
