This for me is an issue in that it doesn't appear to search at all.  Searching on the tags or the title does not find anything.  Don't know if it's delayed process that just hasn't indexed my test image yet so I'll check back later to see if it has been indexed.  I think also that if the search worked it should be doing more to encourage when you upload to add tags so you could search for example 'Range Rover 2006' if you wanted.   

I have pictures which I have downloaded over time but aren't mine, am I ok to upload these too or would I ned permission?

Not 100% certain but I believe you would need permission for any pictures which are not 'owned' by the publisher to be allowed to exhibit them on an open web site

I am sure someone in the Club will know the answer

Clearly each photo has a tag. The tags appear to be one word tags. Need to experiment.

I would have thought with a tag you can search anything - otherwise why would NING put them there.

Also indexing may take some days. I will search the Ning information page to see how and when they are indexed.

Can you keep trying.
