The Range Rover Club of Victoria are hosting the official Range Rover 40th anniversary celebration in Nov in Melbourne.

The Chairman of the organising committee has one of the TDV6 G4 D3's brought into Oz a a year or so ago, but it would be great to see any other G4, Camel or other vehicles of interest at the event. In fact we're looking to get as many vehicles as possible related to Range Rover through the 40 year period on display, including factory standard or owner modified...

We have confirmed as one of the many classics already attending, the first ever Range Rover demonstrator officially imported into Aus by the Rover Company, a 1971 build in white!

There are convoys driving from Sydney and Adelaide for the weekend organised by the respective RR Owners clubs in those areas.

Also please note: you don't have to have a Rangie or a Land Rover in order to attend, its open to all and it should be a great weekend!

BTW, great site! :D

best of luck for the show

It's a pity that one of the only Camels currently in Oz will be on its way back to the UK by then.

Mind you, it probably wouldn't have been in a fit state to attend, having been rolled on the Savannah Way last month!!

That's a real Shame...

Camel Landy - Do you know if there are any other Camel, G4 vehicles (or other) in Oz whose owners we can reach out to try and get them to the show?

There a couple G4's in OZ that pop up in the UK LandRover mags.

D3 - ex 2008 OZ G4 selections owned by Robert Pepper who was on Mongolia recce. Writes in LRW magazine.

Thanks Adrian,

Have sent Ozzie 110 an email from the forum .

As I mention above, The Chairman of the RR 40th organising committee owns one of the 2008 G4 D3's that were brought in, so I expect we will have that one in the display of cars on the Sat at the very least.

As I understand there were only four D3 G4's officially delivered into Australia in 2008. So this one and the one you state Robert Pepper has would be two of the four.

Cheers

There were four promotional "G4" vehicles imported to Australia for the 2008 Challenge. Two were TDV6 D3 SEs with some HSE gear. I own one of them, although it is no longer G4 standard. The other belongs to a Rangie Club member.

The other two vehicles were Defenders 110s. One is owned by someone in South Australia and I have no idea where the other is although I do know it was sold via the Melbourne-based MLR dealership.

The Australian G4 vehicles are a different spec to the UK and/or Mongolian vehicles.

Thanks for the clarification RMP....

Any chance you will be attending the 40th Anniversary? - would be great to get the two G4 D3's in the show together!

I'll be there covering the event for publications including LRW -- already arranged that with your chairman, owner of the other G4 D3 which last time I checked was still G4-spec.

Wasn't planning on bringing my orange beastie as I will be motoring around in a new Vogue for the occasion. However might get it driven there somehow anyway.

We have been advised by Land Rover that they are shipping the Evoque prototype from the Sydney motor show to Melbourne for the 40th show on the Saturday.

Make sure you register if you want to get to see the brand new Model in the Range Rover line up.

Land Rover will now be sending the Evoque back to the UK, so it will not be coming to the 40th.
