I have an '04 DII with the accessory driving lamp kit. Part of the kit includes a relay (that is sealed with some sort of epoxy) which mounts to a plastic bracket on the back of the under hood fuse box. My relay is on the skits and the dealer can not order the part for me. Does anyone know who the OEM was that maunfactured this particular component? I am either trying to get my hand on a working one or a schematic so I can build my own. Any help would be appreciated. I have heard of the mod to utilize a cruise control swtich; however, I would like to retain the current configuration if at all possible.

The part comes from Warn, speak to Steve at Arbil 4x4. From memory the relay part number is 38401, but check with him. I think they still offer a club discount.

My apologies. The driving lamp kit I was refering to is the Land Rover Accessory driving lamp kit. The lamps are the 7 inch lamps that typically mount to a brush guard. I am looking for the relay for that wiring kit. The relay is a component of the STC50039 kit. Any help to find a source for a replacement or a schematic to try and repair, would be appreciated.

The best info I can find is http://www.discovery2.co.uk/spots.html and http://landroverforums.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-17128.html

Seems as though the control unit in STC50039 is notoriously unreliable. May be worth altering as per the site above.

Adrian,

Thanks for the info. Looking at Urban's write up it appears he has idenitifed all but one wire (green and white). Any idea what that wire is used for? I would like to replicate the control box using heavier duty components.

Regards,

Dan

Hi Danny I am not sure of what the green white wire does. Possibly when lights are used as fog lights rather than spot lights. I do not have a D2 wiring diagram available.
