Hi All, further to posts late last year, now looking to upgrade from my Disco 2 G4 Ltd Edition to a Disco 3 - does anyone know of any G4 D3s for sale (strong preference for TDV6), or likely to come onto the market within the next few weeks? Wanting to move to a D3 but not all that keen on just getting a "bog-standard" car = very keen to have another G4. Any advice or pointers much appreciated, Thanks, Alan

Thanks Adrian - noticed that one a while ago, but think they're being a bit ambitious with pricing. Yes, its a special vehicle, but they're selling into a fairly small specialist market. Been there for 2 or 3 months I think.

(and before I get shot down in flames, I appreciate we all know our G4s are worth much more than standard Land Rovers)

Still looking and considering options, Alan

Thanks for that Martin - I've now managed to get hold of a D3 - will be picking it up in 3 weeks and will put wee story on here once I've got it. Checked it out with Adrian who confirmed it was built for 2009 event but not used for recces or selections - fully kitted out though.

As a result of this the yellow Ltd Edition is up for sale - separate post in For Sale section, Regards, Alan

There's a G4 TDV6 for sale at James French, it's on ebay and autotrader. Be careful which one you reply to as there is a 5k price difference between the two, and I suspect it's the same truck that Harwoods of pulborough have been trying to shift for a few months. Good luck, Giz.

with regard to the £5k price difference between sites, the price on autotrader is exclusive of VAT....so actually more expensive as you would have to add on approx £6k. Alan

Has anyone been to seen this one and can comment on condition?

What is the history of BT08BTF before is spent the last few months in the trade?

Cheers

Is it still for sale; what's the price?
By Lakeland Landrover - 31 Mar 2011

Hi,

Yes it is, it only arrived last week.

I did put up the details here, but it was pulled as the site said it was deemed to be "commercial in nature" and removed.

So if you are interested please either email or PM me for the full info.

Which one Stu?

YellowDisco's has gone.

Mine and Lakesides are still available.
By stu_007 - 31 Mar 2011

I meant the final recce vehicle; just seen price, nearly £40,000 :w00t:
By flinty - 31 Mar 2011

Makes mine and even the James French one look like a bargin :w00t:

Is it me or do dealers selling these vehicles seem to think they're worth more than new vehicles and carry a large premium; but when you want to sell the very same vehicles to dealers they treat them as "normal" vehicles??!! And yes, I have very recent experience of this.....
By marco g4 - 31 Mar 2011

I am sure the james french one has sold
By stu_007 - 31 Mar 2011

Yep it's gone from website and eBay!

Bit of a generalisation there, Stu :) Not all Dealers are the same - bit like saying all customers think their cars are worth more than they actually are....:D

We bought it, will keep it in stock and prepare it any way it needs, warranty it, take a part exchange, arrange finance if you need it...;)

We are happy to keep it though too, DP will use it occasionally, and I am going camping at Easter with it. Will look great on Low Wray campsite, with the kayaks and my G4 mountain bike!!

Also as I mentioned its done only 9,054 miles. I don't know how many the other 2 have but this is pretty low mileage for a 3 year old vehicle.

And on the flip side, I own a classic car and am always pleased to see the same cars being advertised for sale at higher prices, means that mines going up too :D

By stu_007 - 31 Mar 2011

No offence intended; that's just my opinion after having bought and sold a number of G4 vehicles in the past! I appreciate that you as dealers need to cover overheads and ultimately make a profit on all the vehicles you have in stock but at the moment and with the current economic climate, these vehicles seem to be slow to sell at the prices asked, both privately and from dealer stock.

With only a limited market, mainly enthusiasts, I cannot believe the prices being asked for the vehicles, and yet they don't seem to sell quickly! All I was trying to say is that the large prices paid initially don't then seem to be reflected when the vehicles are part exchanged; a personal example is being offered less than the Market value of a "normal" spec Vehicle for one of my G4 vehicles by a supposed expert buyer of these vehicles!
By flinty - 31 Mar 2011

wow, there is also one listed on Williams website in Manchester. 28k miles and they want 39K for that. So, I guess £40k for a 9,000 mile example is on the money.

Seems like mine at £33k is under valued.
By Lakeland Landrover - 31 Mar 2011

No offence taken at all Stu. Thick-skinned in the motor trade....:D

Your probably right and we may have it a while before we sell it, but we don't mind, we knew that when we bought it. Special vehicles, different circumstances to 'normal' sales processes.

By stu_007 - 31 Mar 2011

Never did find out where the other Mongolian recce D3 ended up after it was for sale at Pulbourgh Land Rover.....(BW57 AVF)
By aedwar57 - 31 Mar 2011

BW57 AVF was bought by someone from London - he's planning a trip to Oz late this year or early next...
By Xlb89 - 31 Mar 2011

The James French D3 went last week apparently. Rather unfortunate as I was going to have a look round it whilst my 110 was being put back together!
By davezrx - 31 Mar 2011

stu you got silly prices cause you dealt with bloody nene :w00t::w00t::w00t:

just ask sweep ,how much he loves them

...hope your logbooks ok !!!!!
