Hi As some of you may know my wife keeps her horse at James French in Standlake. Just saw today a 52 plate Defender & 08 Disco 3 being prep for sale. Just thought if anyone looking might be worth looking. Good luck Paul

Thanks, I hope to be able to turn up to a few shows (work permitting) although I may have to remove all of the non challenge parts first! (I've got a Superwinch instead of a Warn 9.5ti, Hella roof lights instead of Warn ones and rear bench seats for some reason?!) Scott

Oh dear Scott, that's just how I started; a 2003 110 and the idea I'd get it back to spec.... I did then sold it!!!!! I've had three G4's since!!! A good start would be to restore the decals (if any are missing) rustybus is selling genuine ones, and plaques, and if you join the club, the mechanising officer can get good quality copies done!! Welcome to the Orange side!!
By the way Paul, isn't it about time you got another G4; that D3 would look good on the drive, and tow a horse box!!!!

Not all the D110's had 9.5Ti's fitted. Some, not sure how many, had superwinch Husky winches fitted. See ebay under mantec. The rear bench seats would possibly have been fitted by LR when the vehicle was released in 2004 as many were returned to standard CSW's.

Just a quick question, I have noticed that in addition to my vehicle, several other 2003 defenders are marked up with 2006 challenge decals (I've spotted two so far, OVA in the LRO magazine and another one on the internet) Does anyone know why? Would it be wrong to restore them back to their 2003 decals?Scott

Some of the D110's from 2003 were reused on the 2006 event so had a life in 2003 and a different one in 2006. Those that did the 2006 event as well as 2003 also had different roofracks, snorkles, plasma winch rope. The 2006 only 110's were a lower spec to the 2003 ones too.Whether to go 2003 or 2006 for a vehicle that did both events will really depend upon what equipment is still left on the vehicle and what can be easily obtained. For an authentic appearance either would be correct but the 2006 appearance would be as it finished the event and the later part of its history. Down to personal choice really. Finding the correct equiment from either event is an expensive and time consuming trek.

I think I will go with giving my vehicle a 2003 livery as opposed to a 2006 livery as I believe it was sold off in 05. I did have a quick look into the costing of getting the vehicle back to full spec and I think its safe to say I will probably be putting the decals back on and the floor on the roofrack and thats about it!

Does anyone know where James French got the Discovery from? Is it a new release direct from Land Rover or one that they've acquired as a trade in / on?

I seem to recall seeing an advert sometime ago that stated one previous owner which therefore would have been Land Rover.
You in the market for a D3 G4? Mine is also on the market if your interested.

Ah, got to shift my Defender first. Is yours the one on Pistonheads? It seems to me that prices have shot up this past year. These were being advertised by dealers at £31k - £32k a year ago and now they're £33k plus. £37k for the one at James French.
