Hi Guys,

David Sparks was involved in both 2003 and 2006 events; if you have any general questions you want to ask, please email me:

aedwar57@jaguar.com

please put either G4 2003 or G4 2006 in the subject title

David will do his best ot answer general questions - not specific vehicle questions....

This offer is for a limited period only.

That's helpful.

What's the capital city of Kazakhstan, may I ask?

Here is my question!

I have a G4 edition, not used for G4 challenge but for driving test of "land rover italia" in 2003 and other missions in Africa (Sahara experience 4x4 driving).

When land-rover-italia sold it, they painted (original tangeri orange) as new the defender because the paint was very old.

Can I put new labels on the doors anyway? It has not been used in G4 challenge but it is an original special edition!

Where I can buy them?

thanks! Nicola

Jay, I'm not entirely convinced the G4 challenge ever went to Kazakhstan ;-o??? The closest would have been Mongolia in 2009. Googling capital of Kazak. might illicit the response your after!!!

Hi Nicola

If you email merchandising - they can sell you the relevant stickers.

Hi David,

I have a 2003 G4 that I am trying to get re registered in the UK.I have just moved from Ireland. The DVLA wont allow me to re register it i.e. it was originally in teh UK and I have the reg number..

They wont allow me to re register it as  I need to get a letter of conformity to say it conforms with UK specs etc etc.. Apparently the engine, a TD5, is different to a standard TD5 spec from a standard 2003 landy..

any truth in this?

Cheers,

Eamonn

My 2003 G4 defender had to have a SVA test to say it conformed to UK specs before it was released from Land Rover as it was built for Australia it may have been ROW spec. If you have any paperwork for your vehicle it may be worth looking through it to see if you have SVA report.

hope this helps

You may indeed need a COC - contact Land Rover customer relations on 0870 5000 500 - they will need your full vin number

ROW - Rest of World spec. I.E Areas outside of the EU. Vehicle specs differ for what appears to be the same vehicle in different parts of the world due to the regulations differing there. These range from emissions to lighting.

SVA - Single Vehicle Approval. This allows a home builder or low volume car manufacturer to build a limited volume of vehicles without having to have the vehicle homologated for use. Vehicle undergoes a more rigourous test than an MOT to ensure the vehicle is safe and conforms to use on EU roads.
