I've found a ? 2006 G4...it's black. Is this possible? Please help!

Its Probably a G4 LE (limited edition). A number of vehicles were prepared in various colours (black, silver, yellow and orange I think) for sale at dealerships to promote the G4 challenge. They had several modifications, the only one I can remember at the moment is the roll cage.

there was some chap who had taken a standard D3 in black and had decals and kit fitted - somewhere up near Liverpool

Also depends on the G4.

Some of the Range Rovers and Sports were repainted by dealers in other colours after they had finished the event and sold on through the dealer network. At the time they had a higher resale value in silver or black than the orange.

I saw a black Series LR at an auction last year with some subtle G4 decals. It was documented as a limited edition.
