I finished work on Friday and head out to Oz tomorrow, so I've had a bit of a LR nerd fest over the last few days, starting at Eastnor on Saturday to meet up with Mark Phillips for some tips on the Oz importing and to take a few photos of the RRS there before I ship it out. Cheers for that Mark, much appreciated ;)

Had a little trip round the factory yesterday as a treat to myself, something I've wanted to do for ages.Had a great time and did the tracks afterwards in a new TDV8 RR, quite an impressive beast. I'd recommend the factory tour to anyone, it's a brilliant trip

Anyway, the car attracted quite a bit of attention, both from the experience guys (that looks a bit shiny!) and also a bunch of americans doing the full day tour "WOW, you actually drive this everyday??" WOWWW. Americans, don't ya just love them.

Took a few photos whilst I was there, with mine up alongside Augustos car is it ??

Also, thanks very much to Alan for the trip round Gaydon afterwards, that's one hell of a place, very very impressive. Perhaps I should've listened at school and been the mechanical engineer as I always wanted to be :P

So, few photos here of the last few days. Some are a bit grainy as my good wife took the camera with her 3 weeks ago so I've had to use my cameraphone and that's a bit rubbish. BV55 YZE doing a 'farewell' tour I guess you could say.

Cheers

Cheers Dave.

Well, I'm here now:hehe:. Melbourne is just like being in the UK, as in it's been cold & raining for the last couple of days. It had better sort itself out that's all I can say !!

Left the RRS in the capable hands of ArmsonAE in Leicester for them to service it throughout and prepare it for the trip, Stu's got quite a job ahead of him to clean the underneath, never mind the servicing & suspension replacement it needs (I never did manage to snaffle a new set of suspenders out of the factory for it!)

Went to the Melbourne Leisure & Camping Show at the weekend and had a chat with the local Victoria 4x4 club, had to chuckle at that one. Mentioned I had a RRS on its way over, the bloke's 1st words were "Oh dear, never mind, so you'll not be wanting to take that out into the bush then", the cheeky bugger. Soon put him right ;)

Looks like there's plenty for us to get up to once the car arrives, so that'll be good, if only to prove to Aussies that not everyone has to drive a Prado, Pajero, Patrol, Pathfinder or Land Cruiser !!!

Will still check in and stay a member here though.

Cheers
