Hi

Has anyone ever fitted 20" rims to their G4 Disco 3? I would like to purchase another set of rims for "everyday road use" with Pirelli Scorpion or equivalent; keen to find out the advise on this one.

I have seen some rims on ebay that have come off a 2010 D4, but wonder if the 'lower profile' may look odd on the Orange G4:

The rims / tyres are:

For sale is a set of 4 Land rover discovery 20" alloys taken off a 2010 Discovery Landmark edition

there are only a couple of very minor marks on these alloys as shown in the pictures
Tyres are Pirelli Scorpion zeros with around 4mm/5mm/5mm/4mm tread -
255/50 R20 109Y
Alloys are 8.5Jx20 eh2

Plenty of people on d3.co.uk run 20" wheels with a variety of tyres, post over there to get some opinions. I am also looking at possibly getting a road set of wheels to keep costs down, but I will probably stick with 19's

By the way, good to see you in Tring the other day - I had a car full of excited boys on their way to a birthday party so couldn't stop! Are you local to the area?

My conclusion is the same to stick with the 19inch as 1. does not "bling" the vehicle 2. 19" tyres are more readily available and cheaper to buy 3. with the right set of tyres will allow 2-3 mpg more without sacrificing the comfort of the ride.

I am also meeting with GreenFlow today to discuss LPG conversion at KLLR. Have you had yours converted?

BTW: Yes - live in Bovingdon. And it looks like yours had a very similar plate to mine (originally BV 55 ZBC). I said to the guys in Mountain Mania, I would not be surprised if the cars were last seen together in Thailand and Laos!

Let me know if you plan any outings - I am sure I will be able to get a vehicle full of excited kids too!!

I'm about to put a set of 22" Range Rover SPort Alloys on mine for the summer...... hoping it reduces the "hum" from the MTR's....

Will let you know if there is a significant improvement on fuel economy.....

I actually live just round the corner from Maountain Mania, and Dave knows me as "a bloke with far too much money" in their and the Road Room, as that is my other hobby of choice at the moment.

Not much laning around here any more, and I haven't been out for a while, but I will let you if I am doing something.

As for LPG, I don't do enough miles to justify it really, so it is nice to keep it mostly standard, although the rack will probably come off in the summer before I put some serious miles on it, just to cut the cost a bit.
