Hi there. I'm posting this as a new forum member. I'm off to see a Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE G4 truck this weeked that's for sale at my local LR dealer. It's BP57POJ and I believe that one of the forum members was a previous owner (I have PM'd him).

I have owned various LRs in the past including a 92 Range Rover Vogue SE (Had to get it out of my system since I was a student), and Defender, and a Disco 2. I've always fancied a RRS, and I've always been drawn to the G4s, although my wife cannot figure out why! She certainly cannot understand why I would want to fork out nearly 28K on a 5 year old car, no matter how rare or orange it is!

And that's my question here. I'm not a great mechanical genius, so I would like some advice on what to look out for? It's the sort of car I am likely to want to keep, and use. I commute to work by train, so this will be a weekend runner. And I'd like to get back into the LR scene (My Vauxhall Insgnia VXR, whilst AWD, doesn't really cut it as a recovery truck!). Should I run a mile, or take the plunge and enjoy years of being gawped at!?

Cheers & Beers,

Welcome.

Take the plunge. You'll not stop grinning.

On the Mrs Rocker front. completely understand my wife is exactly the same. The one thing I've learn since owning mine recently is they do not stand well. If you can try and use it every couple of days or expect battery issues. Unless you can overcome it.

Cheers for now and welcome again to the orangeness.

Well - I did it, and I haven't stopped grinning all week!! As soon as the wife said that she quite liked the colour, I knew I had her hooked!

First trip booked sand duning in France next month. Signed up for Sussex 4x4 response. G4 Owners club membership will be sorted this weekend!

Why do people keep staring??
