Water in footwell

Ugly Betty (BT08 BTE) appears to have sprung a leak. Loads of water (a litre or more) under the carpet in the passenger footwell. Carpet sodden; running back under the front seat and into rear passenger areas. Not been through any deep water - baring the odd puddle in south east London. Can't see any obvious causes. Anyone experienced anything similar/suggest anything?

Sunroof drain is probably blocked. There's a small pipe in each of the front corners of the sunroof drain which runs down the A posts. If this gets blocked, the water enters the roof lining and fills the foot well.

Thanks. Will check that out, but I dried out the footwell this morning, have just driven down to Maidstone and back to Orpington and it's full again! No rain, so I am guessing it might be something to do with the aircon - I was running that on full heat to try to dry out the carpets???

I'm not very mechanically-minded (can just about open the bonnet!) so this is probably a dumb diagnosis, but I can't think of anywhere else in a car that water can be leaking from - other than the water container for the wipers or the radiator - the former is empty and the latter seems to be OK.

Had a new windscreen recently ?

Mike - yes, about four months ago. But, I've kind of dismissed that as the footwell filled up again yesterday, even though there was no rain. Other forums seem to suggest a blocked aircon drain, which sounds an expensive fix if it means dismantling the engine compartment to get to the drain. Ian
