Hi Guys,
Anyone have a webasto pre-heater fitted in their truck..?
I have a control unit in the glovebox and a pre-heater in the engine bay and no idea how it works!
Done a google search whcih hasnt turned up anything useful, and I am wondering if there is a bit missing, or if this bit missing is just a cover......
Now the weather is realy getting chilly I want to set the truck to warm up for a few minutes prior to getting in at dark & cold O'clock in the morning.
Any help appreciated.

You'll find all the info you need on Disco3.co.uk there is a full guide to install it so you can check if yours is all correctly wired up.
This would have been done by the last owner as it isn't a LR accessory.

i was the last owner it was not fitted by me but all the instruction for its use were given to the garage when i sold it.

The issue isnt the installation, but the operation, the link was useful though as it told me the control unit model number, from that I was able to locate the operation manual.
Hopefully I will now have a warm car in the morning, or an empty fuel tank!

Hi,
don't have the control in the glove box, but certainly have the pre heater. Sure it makes a difference somewhere, but none that I notice. I just assumed it was a standard fit, my smoking front L wheel arch!! Rich

Just seen this thread.
We have the Webasto pre-heater fitted. The instructions are somewhere, will try and dig them out.
One lesson learned - if you leave PAYG sim cards too long without using them, the network reclaim the number. So remember to phone the car every couple of months to keep the sim card live, or you'll find your snazzy preheater will do sweet FA when you really need it to.

Would be great If I can copy/scan the manual you have to see if its the same one I have......I've got the 1533 contfrol unit in the glove box but no remote access, so no SIM.....
Would be a nice mod to have though so I could switch it on manually.....

Ah! Ours doesn't have any manual control, just the remote start gubbins.
Will talk to the boss when she gets home from work to see if she can locate the paperwork in her filing system.

Located the paperwork, unfortunately it's just the instructions for the GSM "Dial To Open" device that triggers the pre-heater. We don't seem to have any instructions for the heater itself.
