G4 Owners Club

Two new sections for the Home Page?

Mornin'! Unless I'm not looking in the right places, I don't see an "Introduction" section on the Home Page for newbies to say hello? Perhaps this would be a good idea as it's a stepping stone, not only for new folk to introduce themselves, but for existing members to welcome them.

Also, how about setting up an "Events" section? This always works well for it keeps chat about shows and events away from the main discussion section, thus doesn't clutter it up. It also has another benefit. Should event organisers such as yours truly (yes, I have a vested interest!!!) list a forthcoming event into the Events section, if it's some event not connected with Land Rovers or 4x4 so not deemed 'worthy', it can simply be deleted by Admin.

As for myself, the reason I registered on the forum is to invite the G4 Challenge Owners Club to attend ADVENTURE OVERLAND with a Club Display Stand. Club info can be found via the event website, also a Site Plan can be downloaded via the Trade section.

Here’s a rough idea of what the event is and when:-

ADVENTURE OVERLAND … The National 4x4, Bike & Trekking Travel Show

Stratford Racecourse

Stratford-upon-Avon

Warwickshire

CV37 9SE

28-29 September 2013

www.adventureoverlandshow.com

Having outgrown last year’s venue in Northants before the inaugural show was even over, the decision was made to move the event to Stratford Racecourse – for the next 5 years! Now, with acres of space available at this prestigious new venue, it will allow ADVENTURE OVERLAND to grow year on year at it’s new home.

To compliment the existing trade stands, vehicle displays and club display stands, new attractions now include:-

BUSHCRAFT ACTIVITIES AREA sponsored by “Woodland Ways”

(everything from fire-lighting to preparing road kill for the pot)

BUSH MECHANICS sponsored by “Frogs Island 4x4”

(learn the skills to keep your vehicle going when on the road, or more importantly - off it!)

EXPEDITION FIRST AID DEMOS sponsored by “Training Expertise Ltd.”

(knowing what to do when confronted by injuries in extreme situations can quite literally be a ‘life-saver’)

BIKE ADVENTURE ZONE sponsored by “Overland Magazine”

(last year motorcycle traders requested they have a specialised area to call their own, well here it is)

SEMINAR SESSIONS ROOM

(featuring guest speakers passing on their adventure travel experiences with bikes and 4x4 vehicles)

VEHICLE DISPLAY AREA

(comprising expedition trucks & all-wheel-drive campers)

NAVIGATION KNOWHOW

(navigational tips & tuition – from basic roamers, compasses and mapping to the latest electronic GPS software)

CAMPER CONVERSION CORNER

(featuring DIY and professional conversions, plus fixtures and fittings)

Hi Tom,

If you join the club, these two functions are already available to paid up members of the G4OC.....They dont show if you are just a registered forum member if I am right

There is a new members section for introductions, a club events section, obviously for G4OC events, and a non-club events section, for general events, things people know about and invites to or from other events......

So join up and join in!

regards

Thanks for the explanation DD. As I'm into Range Rover Classics there's no point myself joining, but I do however still need to contact somebody within the club about my invitation to the G4 Challenge Owners Club to attend ADVENTURE OVERLAND with a Club Display Stand. Any idea who I need to ask? Cheers!

Hi Tom,

Your 1st port of call would probably be Emon (username Emon) as he handles invites and external communications such as yours.

Hope that helps
