I wanted to say Hello and introduce myself by letting you know I bought a winch yesterday.
I've had a few Land Rovers but my current Defender 90 csw is/was winchless. So I bought one yesterday and as it has an orange RRS attached to it I thought it might be of some interest here.
BV55YZH is now all mine <BG> (although it will be a couple of weeks before I can collect it) and since I noticed it parked between the tent and a G4 Defender in the 2008 Driffield show gallery maybe someone here remembers it.
I live in Rutland and have just finally retired from the rat-race after 24 years with the RCT (Royal Corps of Transport) followed by another 24 years with the DSA (Driving Standards Agency). So now it is time to enjoy myself with that wonderful V8 and as it has only 25K on the clock (backed up by past MOTs and main dealer service book) I hope to have enough money left from my pension to afford fuel to get me occasionally to Rutland Water where I enjoy taking photographs of the wildlife.
BTW, thanks to Emon for a swift response to my question about it before I pushed the "empty my bank account" button.
So I hope to meet up with some of you at the shows this year (especially Peterborough which is just down the road for me) and in the meantime I shall enjoy exploring your website with so many excellent Challenge photos you have shared.

i will look out for you when im on my triumph speed triple quite often stop at rutland water
ps i sell all club kit so im sure i can relive you of just a bit more cash ,before you fill your fuel tank
ive got a lot of club photos i took at shows so will have your truck among them some where

Thanks all for warm welcomes.
Just completed membership form which will go in the post today.
I don't pick up the car for two weeks from today (Fri) as it is getting a full service, MOT, tax and valet as well as having the steering wheel sorted as it seems to have developed some wrinkles on the upper section (common problem?). But I've got the folder with the handbooks so by the time I collect it I should have worked out how to open the doors and fire up the V8!
I intend to keep it as original as possible and although I have a private plate on my Defender, which I have traded for the RRS, I'm going to transfer it to my Triumph as I have a feeling the original G4 registration is important to its heritage.
My wife's car is white and now I have an orange one so the bike fits nicely in between!

Well it looked good then and it looks good now so Alan must have looked after it.
