Hello Yakman,

Ours is insured as unmodified.  We've also listed all the parts (snorkel, winch, lights, stickers, etc. etc.) separately with the insurance company.

I hope this helps.

insure your G4 as factory fitted mods, all were standard as produced by LR so should not be classed as modified as in joe bloggs 4 x 4 (of dubious origin etc)

try sureterm and quote your club membership number for discount

I've just rung Sureterm for a quote for the 110 currently for sale at Nene, and was quoted £572 protected fully comp. This was with a club discount (would obvouisly join upon buying one!). To be honest, I was expecting something a little cheaper, considering the current price for my 90 XS Station Wagon is currently £323!

I would say thats dear Stu, presuming a clean history ??  That very need to what i was quoted for the 911TT

I too phoned them for a quote on a 110 fully comp and protected no claims and insurance for my rooftent, all for the sum of £306.00.

Sureterm seemed to be little off put by the fact my wife had a claim a couple of years ago when some plonker tried to steal our car at the time. Apart from that I'm an insurance persons best bet, what with my employment and a low risk postcode. I found cheaper with Adrian Flux who interestingly said that although the car wasn't modified I would still have to list every bit of kit on the car, even down to the light guards. A bonus was that as it was a specialist insurance they tended to be cheaper as less people claimed as they looked after their vehicles better!! Still think insurance is too high considering my current deal is with a high street shop.:)

I agree considering they are offering a 15% discount too.

When my 110 XS was stolen within 10 months of it being bought, I only managed to get about 75% of the value. It was bought from Nene as a factory fitted Land Rover Adventure vehicle (those silver ones you see at shows) with all the bits. It was insured with RAC, so reputable, but after many letters, they succeeded in pointing out all the small prints which amounted to:
- they will assess against standard market value, irrelevant how much I paid for it from the dealer;
- Bits added on increase the risk;
- when it was insured, they selected the nearest vehicle from the drop down list on ther screen, a bog standard 110 county, so that was their value of the risk.

So in the case of G4, best to ask:
- Can they insure it as a factory G4 from a risk perspective?
- Can they insure it as a premium value G4 110 (or which ever model yours is) from devaluation perspective?
- Have they taken the value of the kit into account?

Hope this helps.
