Hi all,
Could anyone tell me what the G4 roof rack floor is made of and how thick it is?
I'm guessing 4mm aluminium but not sure if it might be a composite material.

From pictures of 2006 G4s I've seen, it looks thicker than 2mm but thanks for the confirmation :-)
Perhaps they reduced the thickness for the 2008 Challenge to save a bit of weight?!

I'll measure it tommorrow for you and confirm it but from eye I'd say 2mm

Checked the floor on my D3. It's 4mm thick. But looks like two sheets of 1mm ali with something sandwiched between.

Ahh, thanks Pip. Much as I suspected, some kind of composite Ali sandwich to save weight.
Anyone else with any other input would be much appreciated ;-)
