Hey people.

I’ve been doing some tidy up on my d3 and one of the things I did was replace the front winch socket as it was a bit tired.

It’s not getting any power though.
Can anyone confirm where that power comes from?
Where is the fuse and how can I check/replace it.

I’m assuming it might be under the battery.
But best ask before I go looking.

Ok figured this out myself.
The power to the remote socket is using one of the heated seat circuits.
Found a blown 25A fuse and replaced it.
Solved the problem.

Just to complete this thread. Since I had to rewire the connector, I changed it from the bullet connectors to a Deutsch 6 pin connector. While I was there I thought it would try to convert the winch to wireless.
I bought this Warn Wireless Remote with the hopes of getting it working.
The connector plugs in but nothing powers up. It only uses 5 wires and the original remote uses 6.
After doing some digging, I figured out that you just need to join the blue and white wires together to get everything working.

I cut my new remote and mounted it behind the grill in place of the original winch connector.
I also added a switch to enable/disable the remote and winch by joining the blue and white wires.
I would not want to permanently join those wires together as it leaves the winch powered up at all times.
Hope someone finds this useful. Especially if you've lost your original remote for some reason.
