Just if anyone is looking James French has got a couple of Lh drive disco 3's in.

One I saw had only done 4,500 miles - an 05 plate that was immaculate.

Both now sport a G4 ownersclub membership application form.:D

Pic of one of those vehicles (Low mileage one,NAE) in Argentina last year. After the 2006 G4 event it was used by LRE as a support vehicle for a Promo event in Salta and the Andies. It's sporting a VSAT dish.  Was also on display at Eastnor durung the TREK finals last November... Quite a history!

Interesting that it has a different plate number and also different aux lights (not the usual Warn ones)
By Erasmus - 23 May 2008

The lights are Hella's, and apparently are the ones that will be used on the cars for '09. The plate indicates the car was registered somewhere around Worcester rather than Birmingham as most of the other G4 cars were. Might be a car that was originally destined for Eastnor?

hi martin being a newbe why? steer clear of engineering ? are these development g4 s? please enlighten me thanks
By Erasmus - 26 May 2008

Dave,

Yes they are used as development vehicles, and will have all sorts done to them in the process. Bits added and removed, new things tried out etc. Chances of getting a standard spec vehicle are fairly slim :hehe:

Cool, maybe there would a chance of getting a vehicle that runs on fresh air, cost nowt in Tax and sticks a tenner in your pocket for every mile you drive - now that's development !!!!!! :D

lol, forces humour, can't beat it

as for engineering as mark pointed out and i eludded to, its cars that have been used and abused in the coarse of getting it right for the masses, they will be sound vehicles as LR dare not sell anything other:ermm:

however not all will be as you expect

I have driven that car for several days both abroad and in the UK last year and it was fine.. It had a new roofrack fitted when the dish was removed and any other suspect bits would have been replaced. I'm sure it would be fine to buy, and very low mileage!!   Richard.

:D Got to have good humor in forces, especially with this government!!! :D
By martin bisby - 27 May 2008

richard

i wouldn't for one moment think there is anything wrong with the vehicle otherwise LR would not sell it, all i was suggesting is that having been through engineering all would not necesscerily be as other production cars and may be have been through stresses that others hadn't

Hi Martin,

I would agree with you!  It was just that I had by chance driven this one and it seemed fine if anyone was interested.

Cheers, Richard.

:doze:

Martin... Martin... Martin...

Yes, Engineering do use VX but so do other sections... E.g. Vehicles used for product launches and other sales & marketing type things.

Thing is, all engineering vehicles have one of two fates once finished with... The crusher or a museum.
