One for the Ladies.

I took the place of Chris and Kim on Sunday and with Alan Edwards spoke to the few people who braved the torrential rain to come and look at the vehicles on display.

The rain finally stopped after lunch but by then most people must have decided to do something other than wander around a wet and muddy showground!

Most people felt sorry for us and did buy some raffle tickets for the GO 60 Challenge and a chance to win a new Freelander 2 - the winner will collect it at the London to Brighton event in October.

Our thanks must go to Paul, the Dealer Principle of Pillings, who ensured we were well fed and watered throughout the day and the television fitted into the Landrover event trailer that ensured I did not miss the Monaco Grand Prix.

Looks like we had the better day weatherwise!

The GO 60 Challenge Rep's had an all time record in selling their tickets on Saturday, they sold 300 of them :D

We sold 21 tickets- but at least we tried. We might have sold more if we had given away free wet-weather gear!

At least it's another £42.00 for the Red Cross, so a very well done to all :D

many thanks to Kim, Chris and Andrew; we did add a bit of colour to the stand and got some interest for Go60 - so dealer and Go60 pleased.

There is talk of doing something else in August................

It did also bring up the need for a 'small show support kit'..................

regards,

Alan

Alan E and I also talked about attending other events and what sort of support would be needed. All  up for discussion within the committee and jointly agreeing the type of smaller events to get involved in. It takes time to work this out, and manage properly and asking ourselves questions like:

1. What will an event add to the club, equally how does it impact LR?

2. How do we support it with people and kit, therefore who will manage and contribute.

So put it on the agenda, and let's discuss.
