Hello everyone,We have a newest memeber of our family, a G4 110 defender. We are going to finalise payment tomorrow and going to upgrade it. We would like to have a full expedition gear on it, but the price could include a G4 kit. Could you tell me what is it? How can we join to be a member of the club? Do you meet up or going places together? I would very appreciate your answers and help. Petra&Chris&little Sean

Hello & Welcome.
The G4 "kit" includes the following:
Warn Winch, Expedition Roof Rack, Snorkel, Warn spotlights, under body protection, internal racks/jerry can holders.
The kit can be very difficult to obtain so if they are giving you the option to buy it all then it would make sense, providing the price is right, to go for it.
Are you getting the 110 from Nene?
With regards to joining the club, have a look here
Yes we do meet up, in fact there is a gathering planned by one of of the members over in Harwich for the weekend of 21/22 June. We also go to the Land Rover shows and will have a stand at the LRW show in Eastnor on the 6/7 June, if you're going to the show pop over and say hello, if you're not then why not join and come along?
There is lots more information available once you join and have access to the full forum, look forward to saying Hi on the inside.
Cheers,

Dear Mark, Thank you so much your help. Yes, we are going to buy it from Nene Overland. Really excited about it. Just can't wait to drive away. I'm not sure if we can make it to go to Eastnor, because on sat we are going for Derby, but hope we can go and see you all there. What do you think, if the the snorkel and roofrack include the price (on the vehicle already), how much would you pay for the kit? Thank you, Petra

Petra,
Not sure on the price for everything fitted, however as an example a second hand G4 roof rack sold on eBay recently for over £400, they are not available new any more. The spotlights new cost around £300 a pair - there are 6 (3 sets) on a G4 :w00t: The winch new is around £800. Add to that fitting etc. and you're looking at a fair whack of money.
If you can get to Eastnor we will have a couple of 110's on the stand that have all the kit fitted, give you some idea as to what they should look like.
Cheers,

petrai see from nene advert the vehicle is a 52 plate fitted with a Hannibal RR, and the option to refit the origional G4 RR, see if this has the lights included, the picture shown is of John Pearsons (editor of LRO) just as a guide to what should be there. negoiate on the price to have the G4 kit fitted now, as mark as stated the individual price, should you be lucky enough to source, would be quite high, any decals missing are available through the club, regards martin

Petra,Hope the negotiations are going well with Nene. Mention to Andrew at Nene that I am hoping that he will give you a good price  I hope you will also join the club if you haven't already, there is a wealth of information to bring the vehicle back to original features if you want to go that far. As a full member benefits, our Technical Officer (Flying Dutchman) will be able to help you with also sourcing the various bits from suppliers. Good luck.

Nene offered £500 for the hannibal roofrack. is that a good or realistic price? If you can get the genuine equipment that would have originally been fitted to your vehicle i.e roofrack, lights, guards bumper winch etc for a sensible price then I would go this route if you are going to try to get a fully G4 kitted vehicle at the end of it. I will have spent the best part of 3.5K on genuine G4 event parts (roofrack, lights, tyres, bumper, winch, steering quard, tank guard, tow step/bumper, snorkle, stickers) when i get the window guard and load shelf. This has taken 2.5 years to find and fund. The 110 was totally bare when I bought it, as nearly all the 2003 D110's were. The Hannibal rack is not a G4 part. As for price a Patriot rack (Britsh made equivalent) that is brand new these are about £800+vat without a ladder and side rails. I recently won on ebay a 2003 Safety Devices roof rack for £415. I was expecting this to go for £600 - £700. So I feel I got a bargain. Though there was no ladder. When i get this roofrack refurbished I will be selling my current roofrack which is almost identical to the G4 2006 type. This will be at the same price as the Hannibal. Hope this helps.
Adrian
