Hello Forum members, I would like to know what additional options a 2005 D3 has. I know it is a 4.4 HSE, but does it have the automatic locking rear diff? And will it have the bluetooth mobile telephone option? Thanks Hi Roel yes it does have the rear diff ...... mine did not come with the PTI option ... it does come with the high end audio / nav system however. the bluetooth is easy fixed with the Parrot bt hands free kit so not to worry about that! rest of the options such as underbody protection, rack, A bar, winch etc, rear ladder etc, roof rack lamps etc Mine was also cabled for radios etc. rgds Simon

Think it will have knobbly tyres... mine are Goodyear MT.You may or may not have 7 seats... mine has but all the others I've seen seem to be 5 seat. Check the spare wheel - mine had an alloy, but it was a different style to the other 4 and I had to replace it. Mine had swivelling headlights which are a great trick - not sure if this is above standard specification though. Some other things to look out for are: damaged or worn suspension. Quite a lot of work was required to put mine right, and even although it had only 10,000 miles on the clock the front discs were warped. Bodywork on my example was badly scratched and dents are evident in most panels although someone has had a go a knocking them back out. In general you might find a lot of dirt inside. Mine has dust in places such as the lenses of the interior courtesty lights and behind every piece of trim. The sunroof drains were blocked with mud. Mine was damaged from some of the conversion work at the factory - things like the cutting of the front bumper is poor. Good luck with the purchase I hope it goes smoothly.

It is BN55 WPT.5 Seats, Road tyres, Looks like it has swiveling headlight but not sure. HSE So it looks to be original but it has smaller door sticker compared to the team cars. See my other topic. That looks strange to me but saying that if you go to the vehicle specification page. The picture there has also smaller stickers.

Hi Roel,? ex James French ? If so I'd seen it before, it looks like the logos were almost hand painted, I'm guessing someone tried to replace missing logos, although it was still registered to lr as only owner. Regards Paul

Simon (D4PLM) is probably your best bet as it is from the same batch his was from (and maybe Augusto's - the OC).I think all the LHD were 5 seats. Most of the RHD were 7 seats. Although the HSE is based on Euro spec which was a bit lower the UK spec, then all of the above including adaptive lights should be fitted. TBH, Julian's sounds like it has been in the wars compared to most of the others I have seen!!

yes mines from J French but I got mine from him in the UKmines is pretty good nick actually.....certainly no major damage inside or out 5 seats .... although regd as 7 yes HSE EU spec .. no PTI etc fixed mirrors etc the rest is there and mine had only done 14K km ... hardly run in! was fitted with std road radials .. I did a deal to fit the MTRs .... but in general quite good. Its going in for a pre warranty check and TüV next week at Matzkers in Köln so will see but Ive not noticed anything untoward. Roel you can find some pics on my site www.pbase.com/dl4plm look under landies rgds Simon

Sounds as though some one has fitted 2006 Defender door stickers in stead of the larger D3/RRS ones!Cheers

Yes the stickers look strange see my other topic. But if you look at the 2006 vehicle specification page you see an official LR picture with the smaller stickers too.http://www.g4ownersclub.com/Resources/2006/SpecSheets/Discovery%203%20%202006%20spec%20Sheet.PDF That's what I think is making it even more strange. Does somebody know that BN55WPT had a hard live during the event? Roel

RoelI can confirm BN55 WPT was an event car and nothing on the record about any extra "abuse" beyond what all event cars went through ;). I hope this helps in your purchase decision Further details are kept to club members as one o the benefits to membership, I hope you understand, but hopefully you soon will a G4 owner and a club member! Regards Augusto

The first insurance quote I got said that I need car car following system. That's about 800 Euro installation and 30 euro a month for tracking services. That's a lot off money.

Sorry Augusto, Mine is the best looking G4D3 by miles. Very simple because it's mine. Look at Nene Overlands website. You see the proof. That's mine. It will come with the rear G4 plate.

I completely agree. It's a toy, it has to be used were it was made for. Mine won't be a museum piece but I promised that I will be carefull with it (the first few? year(s)) Men don't grow up, only the toys get bigger!!!!
