Is the G4 winch recessed ..or similarly mount as the car below ... but looks different due to no soft bull bar.

But agree after 30 odd years I have never needed a winch ...a good rope and another car ...however a caged D3 with a winch would have a better re-sale value in a couple of years time with the 'pay and play' brigade as it would 'look the part'.
yes..your right .. however modern high tensile materials are alot lighter than the old 'blue band' pipe .. and if you eliminate roof racks / caged rears and spare wheel carriers ..it wont be too much heavier...especially with only 2 people inside. For a couple of grand I would rather be safe than find out the Discovery shell aint that strong after falling down a hillside in the Pyrenees or a dune.
To-date I have never had a problem selling a car .... a good car normally sells its self in the right circles.
