Audi meets G4 D3 at speed. Occupants of the D3 appear to be OK(ish), Audi driver isn't.

The D3 in question is a Mongolian vehicle but nothing on there to identify which one.
The Audi driver was drunk and lost control at approx 130mph. Not sure what the D3 was doing but the closing speed at time of impact must have been quite high. The occupants of the D3 survived but the driver of the Audi was spread all over the D3...
..the drivers vital organs were removed by paramedics in the engine bay and on the roof rack of the D3.
As for the Audi itself, I would not have been able to identify it from the pics!!!
I have asked the chap who took the pics to see if he can get the VIN number, that way we can identify which vehicle it was.

I thought the two Mongolian recce D3's were accounted for; one sold to member here and one was still being sold by main dealer; did that one go abroad then, and if so when?

I didn't say "Reccee"...
Let me re-phrase:
...a Mongolian event vehicle for the event that never was!!

Could of been a selections vehicle for south Africa there was a member on the forum last January inquiring about if one at a dealer in SA was genuine, i understood there were 4 selections D3's left in SA don't know if they all had full kit fitted. The thread from January is still on the forum.

From the information I've got so far, there's a good chance it'll be one of these.
Kit wise, from the photos you can just about tell that it had a winch, roofrack, Hellas and black leather interior. You can see some decls but from my conversation with the guy who took the photos, it sounds as though it had a convoy number on it too...

HORRIFIC ACCIDENT WITH A D3 G4 NO#1 IN AFRICA
I would just like to show what happened on a main high way passing our little village yesterday 23 DEC.
A family of 4 were travelling in a D3 on holiday when an Audi A4 at excessive high speed veered into their lane and struck them head on.Time 04h30, driver of the Audi coming from a party.
The driver of the Audi?
Vital organs were removed by paramedics in the engine bay and on the roof rack of the D3.
Look at the D3 cabin or interior, only the foot well were pushed back on the passenger side.
The mother had a badly shattered leg, husband broken arm and young daughters suffered minor injuries. The family are still in local hospital near us.
The impact was so severe that the D3'S winch and bull bar were stuck in the middle of the Audi , at the gear levers position
thank god for those in the disco ,sorry about the audi

Shocking accident that highlights the strength of the D3.
Thoughts go to both famillies.
