Disco II Event Tires

Group: Past Forum Member Posts: 92, Visits: 524	Any idea why the Disco II's were run with 225 tires on the challenge? These are very thin compared to the 255's that the truck was intended for?

Group: Forum Member Posts: 264, Visits: 2.9K	Quite probably to get them to 'Bite' into the mud. OK... Not all mud is the same but more often than not, you get a thin layer of soft stuff with good, firm ground underneath. Narrow tyres dig through the soft where as wide tyres don't. Wide tyres give a larger surface area and you have the potential to get 'floatation' - A bit like aquaplaning but on mud. This is perfect for snow & sand but not necessarily good for mud! Mind you, there is the other option that GoodYear just didn't make them in that size. :D M __________________________________________ The box said: "Windows 11 or better...." ...So I used a Macintosh. :D __________________________________________
