Thamks for the advice,

I use my laptop with Memory Map in the D3 with a liliput 7" touch screen monitor and suction mount on the screen for the driver. This means the laptop can be tucked away when on fast roads with a monitor for the driver and when off road the navigator has the laptop on his lap with the driver still having the second monitor. The 7" screen is really a bit small so slightly bigger would be good if available but you need the touch screen for when the laptop is hidden away. I am lucky that I use a tablet PC for this so it sits nicely in the top glovebox when off roading with the screen reversed for the navigator (airbag off!).
I have just used a cheap usb gps aerial from ebay. It was about £30.

Cheers, Richard. A Silver G4... Best of both worlds?!
Roll on Mongolia! Oh boll0cks, no Mongolia, might have to get a proper job...
Looking to update my existing paper maps and looking around me system that I have used for many years with somethoing more technological in the 110. I have previously used hand held GPS to plot location on paper maps and a big Garmin on competitions, but I like the idea of memory map being seen within the vehicle.
I have Memory Map V5, I have a laptop. I looking for advice/suggestions on the GPS receiver/antenna to use in conjunction with the laptop or on a good choice of PDA to transfer the info to for use.
My intention aside from a lot of driving around the UK, is to go to Europe next year and North Africa the year after so I would ideally like that to be a consideration.
Budget is not huge, but my ability to soak up ideas :D
What are your thoughts?
