Unfortunatley we've not go to the bottom of it yet. The LR specialist I use is rather in demand. He's had a look and been on to LR support and they think its an electrical problem related to the transpoder but its likly to be a prolonged investigation so it needs to go in when they have the time to fit it in. I'm hoping next week some time...
Will report back to the forum......

Did you get to the bottom of the key incident?
I have had a similar one on and off with my G4 D3; I wonder if I need a new battery to the car as the keys (both) do not open the car after I do short runs for a while, whereas if I go on a long run all seems to be back working ok. I have to lock and unlock the car manually using the passenger door. Once in the car works fine.
Any recommendations for a good battery / battery wholesaler appreciated. I may try Costco as I know they do Bosch batteries at a reasonable price?? I have a battery charger so will test charge in the morning

Checked out by George at Durham 4 x 4 apparently not the keys, somewhere there may be a break in the wire between the reciever and the main unit.....
Back as soon a it can be fitted in to have the panels stripped out and the faulty wireing traced.
Wife also noted sat nav and radio gone off. Hoping thats just a fuse with all the messing wiring.
Bugger.

If the car's not been used much then I guess it's possible the key batteries may have failed. Clutching at straws a bit here as I've not heard of that problem before.
Not using them much does bugger them up though, mine had a few glitches after being in storage for 3 months prior to being shipped here and again after being in the container for 2 months. Using it has begun to settle it out though.

Hi all,
Only had my G4 RR sport a couple of weeks and had a rather embarrassing incident at the weekend and was wondering if anyone had experienced similar or could shed any light. Hoping someone more technical than me may have some answers.....
In short went out to use the car and the key clicker wouldn't open the central locking, tried the passenger door lock and still no joy. My immediate thought ( with which AA bloke concurred) was the battery. On eventually gaining entry ( which is another story and frighteningly easy) it transpired that it wasn't as she started first time.
AA thinks they keys have somehow lost the code (both keys) which I can believe but if so surley it then shouldn't start either?? It's off AGAIN to the LR doctor this afternoon for apparent reprogramming. By the way once opened we couldnt lock it so it's been in secure storage.
Starting to get a little peeved as since buying it a couple of weeks ago it's cost me 1800 quid to put right so far. I've heard horror stories about reliability but had hoped they would be minimal.
So 2 questions,
1. Has anyone heard of similar key code issues??
2. Do the HSE sports commonly suffer with problems or have I just been unlucky so far?
Thanks in advance
Ian
