Indeed! The screw's head has completely had it so ordered a new one from Devon 4x4 and wait for it to be stripped down. If anyone needs to service the XD9000i, I found this great site;

Thanks. I did try Allen key but will give it a tap this time!!
Edit: I've tried both sizes but it's rusted solid and the head seems to have been shredded and the rain hasn't added to my mood! Will get it removed when the winch eventually has a service....!!

It should be a 5/32" allen key if it is the original screw. Nearest you will possibly get is 4mm which will be a tight fit in the hex. Use a socket with the correct size allen drive in, then tap the hex drive into the hex in the bolt. They are not normally that tight but may be corroded in.

Can anyone give me the EXACT tool and size to remove the screw that attaches the winch rope to the winch drum please? I need to remove mine and replace the winch fairlead, but the tool I had for my Defender winch doesn't fit!!!!
As an aside if anyone wants a Scorpion Racing Aluminium fairlead PM me!!!
