Just ordered a full set of MT/r's for the winter:cool:
I Realise they are 90/10 off road tyres.
Can anyone who has these fitted already tell me what they are like 'on road'.
I am now getting a bit nervous about putting my pride and joy on the road with what is in effect mud tyres.:ermm:
Cheers
Graeme.
Fuel economy!!!!!
When I ordered the tyres the supplier phoned me and warned me about the on road capabilities of the tyres.
Wasn't worried until then!
The biggest concern for them is the speed rating.
You'd need to be some kind of muppet to be doing over 100mph in a 2.5 tonne 4X4 even with Z rated tyres. :w00t:

I've also had no probs with the MTRs. Yes definately noisey, and thirstier, but very well behaved on the motorways. Just returned from Spain and France driving at 130kph for some sections (nearly missed the ferry) with four pax and fully loaded roof and boot and felt v. secure. Wouldn't want to have to turn too quickly like that!!
As for looks, they look fab, and are often mentioned by admirers. They get my thumbs up.
Enjoy

Starting to feel confident again about my decision to change to MT/r's.
Anyone got pic's of them on their G4?
Can't wait to get them fitted now!!
Xmas has come early for me :w00t::w00t::w00t:
From what I have found with the MT/R's they are ok in the dry but do get a bit slidey in the wet when pushed especially if on a high performance vehicle. There are plenty of club vehicles running these tyres possibly with various stories of performance but on the whole they are a very good tyre.
Remember though that they are are an OFF ROAD biased tyre and they will NOT be as good on the road as a road biased tyre. The vehicle should be driven accordingly when on the road bearing in mind the grip level difference.
I had MTR's on my RRS and they behaved impecably even on a pretty rapid car.
To be fair as I knew I had them on I did not push the car to its grip limits especially in the wet - less tyre in contact with the road than normal road biased tyres - you could get them to moan abit at roundabouts !
Saying that they are a slightly softer compound so do grip better in some circumstances.
Find a nice wet empty road & find out the limit before you ever need then in normal use.
I say enjoy

The reason I'm changing them is to go to Aviemore in January to see the mushing.
I've posted a thread inviting you all, would be a great place for a meet.
No kidding they are good. You really have to push it to feel a difference. RoelBN55 WPT G4 D3 LHD Team Greece. Now on Dutch license.
