Group: Past Forum Member Posts: 92, Visits: 524	I understand that for the 2003 G4 Challenge, some of the Disco's were fitted with a radio for communications purposes. Does anyone on the board know what kind of radio would have been installed in the Disco's and where they would have been mounted? If anyone had a photo of a radio mounted in a Disco, that would be great! I lifted up the rubber pad in the center of my dash and found 4 holes that appear to be the remnants of some type of an added component to the vehicle. Thanks in advance. Dan

Group: Forum Member Posts: 49, Visits: 374	Hi, The radio was a Standard Vertex (Yaesu) VX2000 and the aerial was a Sigma antenna MC150. Neither are now available new. They are VHF PMR kit in the VHF 160-170Mhz band and are only licencable by companies etc. Licences are not available for private use. The radio's were used again on the 2006 event, but will be superceeded by a newer model for 2009. The Sigma aerials are no longer available which is a shame as they were a brilliant aerial. No good for CB etc as totally wrong band but look the part for events etc.. PM me your address if you want one.
