you need to look at the comparative wieghts of the cotton canvas, i would hope that european markets would have modern quick drying breathable fabrics due to the little hot drying times from our summers, wheras the austrailian version will have heavy traditional canvas able to withstand the high ambient temperatures and mostly the use to which they will be put, combined with the way an exped is conducted in aus as opposed to the shorter distances here in europe.
remember cotton canvas needs soaking to expand the seams first time out.
