I have come across a couple of so called G4 'LE's from 2006. They seem to be called 'LE's when the bolt on extra bits such as the roofrack, ladder and snorkle, winch and decal are dealer fitted. Hence you can get these decals.
Japanese vehicle.

The New Zealand D3 could have been one of these where either the dealer or owner has fitted a standard vehicle with these parts.

Looks like an owner has fitted bits onto a standard 4 litre V6 petrol D3 then slapped a sticker on the back. It's otherwise a very spartan spec of car, springs instead of air suspension etc. From the cars on their website it looks like they're shipping them in from the UK as well, which is clearly a bit easier to do with NZ than here in Aus.

The Japanese link sounds plausible as NZ get a lot of cars in from there.
As to what it is, from the way it looks, I'm with Mike. However, if there are parts out there for the stickers, etc... Then it could well be some sort of Limited Edition for the Japanese market (which is what they did for the Camel Trophy).
