Dear all
The Camel Trophy Owners Club would like to invite you to our next club event. "Bob's Bash" is a regular fixture in our calendar and is named after Bob Ives, joint winner of Camel Trophy 1989 and all round 4x4 guru.
Date & Location:
13th & 14th April 2013 in Hampshire, United Kingdom.
Tickets:
This is a ticket-only Camel Trophy event to which paid-up members of G4OC are invited. Your £25 ticket covers all activities and camping on Saturday & Sunday nights. In addition, it also includes the legendary club barbecue, charity auction and evening entertainment on Saturday night.
Members who are arriving on Friday afternoon/evening need an additional £5 Friday ticket. This includes camping for the night plus a cooked meal and evening entertainment.
Charity auction:
There will be a charity auction on Saturday night. If you would like to donate items, please contact
events@cameltrophy.co.uk
.
Under-17s:
Under-17s are welcome as long as they are accompanied at all times by a responsible adult. All guests need a ticket. We hope to run some on-site activities suitable for all ages of children but regret we are not able to provide crèche facilities.
Activities:
There will be a range of activities, including off-road driving convoys, winching and non-vehicle based activities. We will send more details closer to the event. If a member of your party prefers to spend their day away from the site, there are plenty of ideas here: www.flossiesbnb.co.uk/html/places_of_interest.html
Club shop:
The Camel Trophy Shop will be at the event so if there are any items you want, please pre-order them and you can collect them at the event.
Memorabilia:
There is a range of exclusive memorabilia being produced ready for the event. The pictures shown here are examples of previous memorabilia, as the designs for “Bob’s Bash” 2013 are still being finalised. However the samples we have seen so far are brilliant! Please order now and your items will be ready for you to collect when you arrive at the event – no post & packing!
“Bob’s Bash” 2013 event sticker:Small Camel Trophy logo stickers printed on quality vinyl commemorating the event.
These vehicle plaques measure 12”x5” (30cmx15cm) and are printed on bi-bond plates. They are also available to buy as plaque-sized stickers! They will have individual convoy numbers (e.g. CT01, CT02, etc.) so if you are ordering multiple items let us know if you don’t want them all to have the same number.
Cloth badge:Limited edition run of the very popular embroidered cloth badges. This is your chance to get your hands on a new piece of history!
T-shirt:Exclusive Camel Trophy Club “Bob’s Bash” 2013 cotton t-shirt. This all-new design on a green t-shirt is available in sizes from XS to XXXL.
Catering:
Ticket holders for Friday night will be provided with a hot meal in the evening. Saturday night will be the club’s legendary barbecue. Vegetarian alternatives will be available for both evening meals, simply let us know on your booking form if you are vegetarian so we can plan the right amount of food. If you have any other dietary requirements, please let us know on your booking form and we will try to cater for your needs.
There will be on-site catering which will provide breakfasts – from bacon sandwiches through to full cooked breakfast – at a reasonable cash price. The caterers will not be able to accept cheques or cards. Hot drinks will also be available. Subject to demand, these will be available throughout the day. To help us plan, and keep costs down, please tick the box on the booking form if you are likely to buy a breakfast from the on-site catering.
International:
The event is about 45 minutes drive from Portsmouth ferry and 1 hour 45 minutes from Felixstowe ferry. Heathrow, Gatwick & Southampton airports are all about one hour away. Please get in touch with
events@cameltrophy.co.uk
and we may be able to help you get from the airport. We can supply tents for you to sleep in.
Vehicle safety:
Ex-Camel Trophy vehicles will be suitable for all the vehicle-based activities. You are welcome to bring a non-Camel Trophy Land Rover, but please take the advice of the guides to ensure your vehicle is safe and suitable. We may ask non-Sandglow vehicles to give priority to Camel Trophy vehicles for some sections, especially those being photographed for publicity purposes. This will not stop your adventure!
The vehicle-based activities are potentially hazardous. You must follow the advice of the guides and seatbelts must be worn at all times. All vehicles must be able to pass a safety examination including:
·
Vehicle is roadworthy, taxed and insured.
·
Handbrake and foot brake function correctly.
·
Battery and fuel cap are secure.
·
All passengers have forward facing seats with working seatbelts.
·
Doors and windows function correctly.
·
Passenger compartment is free from loose items.
·
Vehicle has front and rear recovery points.
·
Winch, if fitted, is in good operating condition.

Thanks Dave, all received safely. Please spread the word with your club - would like to see some splashes of orange amongst the Sandglow.
Cheers
