Authentication of a G4 by its VIN

I Group: Forum Member Posts: 8, Visits: 17	Dear All, I am new to this group and not yet a full member but hopefully soon. I wanted to ask your collective advice. Is it possible to authenticate if a Discovery 2 is a original G4 by its VIN number, I don’t know if it was used in the challenge, was a G4 car sold direct to market or possibly a counterfeit of sorts. Any way to identify the providence would be of great help. The number is SALLTGM884A831589. It is a left hand drive, Td5 manual gearbox. Kind Regards

If it is a genuine G4 event vehicle we can supply an authentication certificate, but unfortunately, we don't have enough data on the limited edition vehicles sold via UK dealers, or the LE's sold in the USA. You may be able to get a heritage certificate from the British Motor Museum that could include some interesting facts, such as manufacturer build number as it went through the production line etc. but that is about all. I have added the link to the British Motor Museum below so you can check it out if you like..
